They own five fishing boats and a fish retail store, which provide employment for many of the local villagers in Betio on Tarawa Island, Republic of Kiribati. The fishermen mainly fish for yellowfin tuna, but their catch has been decreasing in the last few years. The result is that local fishermen are forced to go further out in order to catch enough tuna to feed their families, increasing fuel costs and safety issues.
